Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ NYC Premiere

In honor of this week’s release of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F,’ FUNimation held an exclusive NYC red carpet premiere for the members of the press and die-hard fans of the anime.  The special guests of the event included voice actors Chris Sabat (C) (Vegeta, Piccolo, Shenron), Sean Schemmel (R) (Goku), and Justin Cook (L) (Producer).

The Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of FUNimation  also attended the premiere.

Surprising the stars of the film, some dedicated fans dressed up as their favorite characters from the series.  While no one attempted to cosplay as Frieza, there were many impressive Super Saiyans.

Originally, I received an advance copy of the anime through FUNimation, so I was excited to finally experience the anime on the big screen.  The animated fights are truly stunning and I implore all DBZ fans to not miss the very limited run of Ressurection ‘F.’

It was surreal to experience the anime feature with Sabat and Schemmel directly in front of me.  Their passion for the project shines through their demeanors, as they laughed and cheered with the audience throughout the film.

As a special treat, a pre-show clip takes fans behind the scenes of creating the dubbed version of Resurrection ‘F.’  To test everyone’s knowledge of Dragon Ball Z lore, fans were invited to compete in a trivia contest through Twitter against the voice cast of the film.

To cap an excellent night, FUNimation distributed mini Goku and Frieza toys.  Wrapped in Japanese packaging, the small figurines are encased in a rubber shell which expands to release the miniature toy.

Overall, DBZ is experiencing a resurgence and surging in popularity.  Don’t miss out on the legendary rematch of the century: Golden Frieza v. Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku!!!

Don’t Miss This Limited Theatrical Event!  The film is playing in select cities from August 4 to August 12.  Theaters are selling out, buy your tickets today!  Visit dragonballz.com for more information.
